The SL5000/SL6000 is a new, smart offshore wind turbine platform developed specifically for the wind resource and climatic characteristics of China’s coastal regions. It features a power rating of 5–6 MW and rotor diameters ranging from 139 to 170 meters. The platform incorporates several patented technologies (including ZL201210434533.1, ZL201110240459.5, and ZL200910241617.1), enabling it to withstand harsh environmental conditions such as high typhoon frequencies, heavy salt spray, and ultra-high temperatures. The unit’s stability and reliability have been rigorously verified through six years of actual operation in offshore wind farms. The SL5000/170IIIB offshore wind turbine model, developed based on this platform, boasts power generation performance indicators and reliability that are on par with international standards.
